Maps and Tolkien have been two lifelong passions that have shaped my journey. I vividly remember the moment my dad introduced me to a scene from The Lord of the Rings—I was instantly captivated. I continued on to read the trilogy, moved on to The Silmarillion, and then explored every one of Tolkien's works I could find. This love for Middle-earth led me to join ArdaCraft in the summer of 2015, where I immersed myself in Tolkien's world and the geography of Middle-earth.
After nearly a decade of contributing to ArdaCraft’s work, I earned a degree in GIS and Cartography from the University of Northern Colorado. Today, I am a GIS Analyst at WSP, specializing in floodplain mapping and analysis for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). My professional expertise, combined with years of passion for Tolkien’s creations, has allowed me to carve out a unique niche: mapping Middle-earth. Over the past two years, I’ve applied my technical skills to craft one-of-a-kind web maps that showcase ArdaCraft’s decade of incredible work.
Beyond my career, I’m an avid outdoorsman who finds inspiration in the landscapes I explore. Whether it’s hiking, snowboarding, rock-hounding, or traveling, I’m always eager to experience the beauty of the natural world. To date, I’ve had the privilege of visiting 10 countries, traveling extensively across the United States, and adventuring in my backyard—the breathtaking Rocky Mountains.
